Just the beginning

I have lots left to do and less than 2 months in which to do it! I am so nervous and yet so exited to be able to travel around the world and to volunteer. I'm a blessed that I am able to embark upon a journey like this. This is my first post, of many to come about my trip around the world.

I've never made a blog before, I thought I'd make one so people could see what I'm up to, because I think that people would want to..? I don't know. I'm putting it out here into the world for all to see! 

I want to mention that I would not be able to do any of this if it wasn't for my Opa. Because of him I am able to take this journey and learn from other people in other cultures, offer a hand where a hand may not have been offered before. I was taught to live my life without regrets and to do things that will truly make me happy. I think that this adventure is NOT something that I will one day come to regret. I think that going after a dream, doing something useful, getting an experience is something that he would be okay with...maybe (maybe because it's Opa, and maybe because I was his princess-Tanya, my cousin, was the queen). 

Also, I should mention that it was probably my mom who pushed me to go away for a bit, her idea was for me to come to Chile, which also helped to push me to look and see what I could do in this world. 

And Alicia, you gave me the tools that I needed to find the things that I have found. Starting with idealist.org, that's where my pipe dream started. And now it's a reality!
