In the Jungle

In the jungle the mighty jungle the medicine man sleeps tonight. Well, actually he doesn't sleep there (actually I don't know, but probably not) he just collects herbs to make "elephant soup". Elephant soup is not what it is actually called, just a name that we gave it here at camp. It is a medicine made from the herbs that is collected to apply to the elephants skin when they have abrasions or infections. Collecting the herbs is no easy task, we are covered up head to toe (because thorns suck) and then we hike up a mountain, and down the other side. No person is not covered in sweat after this.

Nothing like a selfie in the jungle-it was so hot. Maybe 35 degrees

It all started with a path...
 And it got smaller
Then we stopped for bark collection

This is the medicine man, Toh, cutting bark from a tree.

Here are some shots from the hike-such a beautiful place!

 Banana Tree

ME :) - I am SO sweaty

This hole in the brush, walk through there to get to the other side. If it wasn't for the machete, I would think that this is the beginning of a horror movie.

Toh, here is a better picture of the medicine man

He let me use a machete

Toh - showing us how to strip the bark off of the tree, again.

A group shot after our hike.
